When trying to do Boolean and avoid a particular geographic location I always do the following: site:linkedin.com/in "social scientist" -india -china -russia

I like Trish's answer. In addition to using the - symbol, I also use Google's verbatim search option found under tools > all results. Verbatim uses the exact keywords entered only which will truly exclude -india -china -russia on any search result. I wrote a post about this topic a short while back.

Hello,

Here's another example on how to exlclude a location.

"developer" -"minneapolis" -intitle:"profiles" -inurl:"dir/ " site:linkedin.com/in/ OR site:linkedin.com/pub/

Cheers,
